Photo Tag

Thanks for the tag, Piele! Ok, so here is the 6th picture in the 6th folder in my files.

What the heck is THAT?? you ask yourself! This is a birthday tradition that James and I started in Logan. I have carried on a passionate love affair with donuts that began when I was a little girl and my Dad would occasionally take us to Winchell's (does that even still exist?) on Saturday mornings. There is nothing better in this world than a white cake donut with white frosting and rainbow sprinkles!!! When I went to SLCC I was on a first name basis with the ladies at the 7-11 down the street from the building where I had classes because every day after class I would go and get one of these babies. I was in HEAVEN my first 2 years at USU when I would also get one every morning at the TSC, and I lamented the time when all of my donut suppliers slowly gave way to the evil empire of Tommy's donuts. (Bleh!)

Anyway, every year on my birthday James gives me a big flaming pyramid stack of donuts instead of a cake. And every year he insists on putting the exact number of candles for how old I am turning. I think that I count 23 in this pic. I'm pretty sure this is the first year we did it, because you can see that these are actually glazed and not cake donuts. After this I made him pre-order from a bakery. And now to end this story happily, I will just mention that James works just a couple blocks from Banbury Cross! (I give them a 9 out of 10 on my donut scale- they get docked because their sprinkles aren't in primary colors, and sometimes there are too many of them!)

That is awesome! I am totally going to start doing that now. My addiction started with my pregnancy with Wyatt, I wanted donuts all the time. And it stuck- in fact, we had a party for one of the girls I work with the night I went into labor with Jana, and in the few hours before Jana was born I ate 3 donuts. Yum... :)

That's really fun that you love donuts so much. Ü

I don't know if you and James like to play Settlers of Catan but Chris and I are having a party at our house next Sunday at 6:30 and we're going to have several games going at once. If you're interested leave a comment on my blog. We'd love to see you there and get to know you better. Have a great week. Ü

P.S. I love the song (Lost by Micheal Buble) that is playing right now.

How are you so skinny?
Dang you!
I lived near Banbury Cross also and we would frequent it.
My husband is also a doughnut freak!
Every time I send him to the store for something he brings me the receipt so I can write it in my checkbook and I always see an item for .69 and I ask,"What is this?" He has the guilty smile and says,"A doughnut."
